Appropriate Technologies for Universal Health Coverage (UHC) In East Africa.

Medical engineering is a pragmatic discipline that approaches healthcare delivery as a complex and adaptive system. It identifies and applies engineering design and analysis principles in such areas.

The conference is one way of discussing the progress of this field, the roles it is meant to play and the partnership that are needed to thrive the Universal health coverage and hence the healthcare system within the East African region.

Medical engineering though majorly focused on BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING, cuts across electrical, civil engineering, and a variety of other related technology disciplines.

Universal Health Coverage (UHC) is a health care system that provides health care and financial protection to all citizens of a particular country or region, stretching out to an end goal of providing financial risk protection, and improved access to health services.

It’s against this background that the organizing committee of the 6th East African Healthcare Engineering Regional Conference and Exhibition 2018 thought it wise to dedicate this conference towards addressing this Universal Health Coverage (UHC) transition, thus the theme;

“Appropriate Technologies for Universal Health Coverage (UHC) In East Africa.”

This year’s East African healthcare engineering regional conference takes place in Kampala, Uganda on 28 November 2018.
